LAOS🇱🇦Buddhist Lent is a special three-month-long period that starts on the full moon

LAOS🇱🇦Buddhist Lent is a special three-month-long period that starts on the full moon in July and ends on the full moon in October. During this unique season, travelers in Laos can't help but be intrigued by the charming blend of spirituality and culture. Monks deepen their meditations, while the air fills with the aroma of incense and the soft glow of candlelit processions.

In 2023, Buddhist Lent begins on the 1st of August (Boun Khao Phansa) and ends on the 28th of October (Boun Awk Phansa). Lao people celebrate Awk Phansa Festival as a mark of the end of Buddhist Lent with many exciting activities. Therefore, if you visit Laos during the final weeks of Buddhist Lent, you can participate in the festivities of the Awk Phansa Festival.
