Terrace of the Leper King is located in the northwest corner of the Royal Square of Angkor Thom or Terrace of the Elephants

Terrace of the Leper King is located in the northwest corner of the Royal Square of Angkor Thom or Terrace of the Elephants. This terrace is about 9 kilometers from the Siem Reap city center. Terrace of the Leper King was built in the late 12th century during the reign of King Jayavarman VII. It is a 6 meter-high platform. The front retaining walls of the terrace are decorated with at least five tiers of meticulously executed carvings. On the southern side of the Terrace of the Leper King, there is access to a hidden terrace with exquisitely preserved carvings. The curious name of this terrace refers to a statue of the Leper King that is on the platform of the terrace. The one you see today is a copy. The original is in the National Museum in Phnom Penh. ▶️ Contact us for booking a room: 📨 Facebook Page: Angkor Aurora 📱Telephone: 061 766 755 #Hotel #SiemReapHotel #CambodiaHotel #BestHotel #LuxuryHotel #TravelGuide #VisitCambodia
